Sister’s Sarah and Jenn Tringalli’s business began in a small Maine garage where they sold vintage furniture, clothing & accessories. A decade later My Sister’s Garage can be found in a much larger space located in an antique farmhouse in Windham. It’s an eclectic store organized by rooms and vignettes. A mix of this, and a mix of that is where this store excels. Refurbished furniture sells quickly and the sister’s are known for repairing and painting what they sell. The sister’s are involved in all aspects of their business and their hands on approach helps contribute to their success. You’ll find hundreds of items in every room. Truly there’s something for everyone.

The sisters also change out merchandise frequently. Go one week, and a room might have a vintage camp theme: a 1930s college class photo hanging above a school-red bed made up with a buffalo plaid blanket. Return the next, and the same space might be reset as a romantic dressing area with a 1920s white silk dress dangling next to a curvaceous vanity on which a pink hyacinth is set in a milk-glass dish. “Not only can you come here to find something that you want, but you can go back home and use something that you have in a new way,” Jenn explains.  Jen DeRose, Maine Home + Design
